Mr. Brockway has been a teacher in Hudson since 1999. He has taught 2nd grade at Hudson Elementary and both 4th and 5th grade at East Woods. He received both his Elementary Education and Educational Administration degrees from Kent State. He coaches bowling for HCSD and enjoys spending time with his wife and two beautiful daughters. Mr. Brockway brings a love for mathematics, wide knowledge of new technology skills, and the ability to make learning fun and exciting to our team. The students will travel to Mr. Brockway's room for Math Workshop.
Mrs. Ulrich has been teaching since 1995. She began her teaching career with Ravenna City Schools as a 4th grade teacher and then moved to Hudson City Schools in 2000. She received her Elementary Education degree from Youngstown State University and Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialization from Kent State University. She brings a deep knoweledge of best practices in reading, writing, and word study to our team and will be incorporating those skills to our new inquiry research model. Mrs. Ulrich's classroom consists of several lab areas and will host most of our inquiry lessons.
Mrs. Koneval has been a teacher in Hudson since 1997 with a 6 year hiatus from 2004-2010 to raise her two boys. She has taught 2nd grade at Hudson Elementary and both 4th and 5th grade at East Woods. She received her K-12 Intervention Specialist degree from the University of Toledo, her 1-8 Elementary Education and Reading Endorsement from Ashland University, and is now working on an Educational Technology degree from the American College of Education. Mrs. Koneval brings to our team a strong skillset for differentiating curriculum in reading, writing and math; teaching study skills; and using formative assessments to maximize each student's potential. Mrs. Koneval's classroom will host most of our reading and writing workshop lessons.
Mrs. Carter began teaching 5th grade in Hudson in 2012. She received both her Elementary Education and Intervention Specialist degrees from the University of Akron. Mrs. Carter is a leader in classroom management, study skills, and differenting curriculum.
