We will be walking to Hudson Springs Park on Friday, September 27 to do some hands-on, experiential learning about ecosystems. Permission slips will come home today and MUST be turned in by Thursday. The permission slip is actually for the next 3 Fridays, because we hope to get out of the classroom and learn about the environment in the great outdoors on these days as long as our wonderful Ohio weather cooperates.
If you haven't done so already, please check out our calendar page. We will add assignments and tests as we have them. As a team, we truly believe that kids should be kids, and everyone should be able to spend time together as a family each night. Therefore, we will often not have any "assigned" homework written on the calendar. However, we require students to read for at least 20 minutes EVERY night. In addition, we expect students to spend 15-20 minutes working on math each night. This may involve homework pages from our book, practice on Moby Max, or a different math activity. Please help us by following through with these expectations at home and by regularly checking the calendar for additional assignments.
Book orders were sent home today, along with a letter explaining the ordering process. If you'd like to place an order, you may either send in a check with the order form, or you may order online. To order online, go to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs and register with our class activation code M9JPN. Remember, your orders help us earn free books for the class. Thank you for supporting the love of reading in your child and our classroom!
